Why do I need physiotherapy?

You may be referred to physiotherapy because of pain or difficulty moving parts of your body, which has limited your daily activities. Physiotherapists treat these movement issues and restore your body’s ability to move normally.

Do I need a doctor’s referral before scheduling physiotherapy?

In Ontario, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to begin physiotherapy. However, some insurance plans might request a doctor referral to access your coverage. If you are struggling with a painful condition, you can contact us or request a free consultation and we will suggest therapies which could benefit you.

Unfortunately, our services are not covered by OHIP. However, most Extended Health Plans or health insurance plans will cover our services.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your diagnosis, your goals, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, etc. You may need one visit, or you may need weeks of care. You will be re-evaluated regularly, and when you see your doctor, we will provide you with a progress report with our recommendations.

You will be evaluated by one of our highly trained specialists, and he/she will also treat you during subsequent visits. Unlike some clinics, where you see someone different each visit, we feel it is essential to develop a one-on-one relationship with you to maintain continuity of care. Since only one physiotherapist knows your problems best, he/she is the one that will be working closely with you to speed up your recovery.

Will physiotherapy help my pain?

For most of our patients, there will be significant pain relief after one to three sessions.
